Oy Vey! Bailey Joins The Family!!

Today we brought home "Bailey" an 11 1/2 week old Softcoated Wheaton Terrier. After the boys agreed that they would take care of the dog, David gave the "go-ahead". So far (after a few hours) so good!!!
We gave him the name Bailey for two reasons...
1. He's Irish and Bailey is an Irish name.
2. He reminded Margie of Bailey's Irish Creme... one of her favorites!!
He's a very intelligent dog!

Filming of "The Hoax" wraps up with Matty meeting more celebrities

Here's Matty with Alfred Molina, one of the co-stars. You may recall Alfred as Tevya in the Broadway revival of Fiddler on the Roof, or more likely as "Doc Ock" in Spiderman 2.
Richard Gere autographed his photo with Matty and wished him good luck on his Bar Mitzvah.
Our claim to fame in the movie... we hosted porta potties for the crew in our driveway

Summer is over, but the excitement continues!
The movie "The Hoax" is filming across the street from our house. So we're all getting a chance to experience Hollywood. We're meeting the cast: Richard Gere, Marcia Gay Harden and Alfred Molina, watching the filming and renting out our driveway for a generator and porta potties. Matty wants to get his picture taken with the stars. Here he is with Marcia Gay Harden

July 21 - 23: Santa Barbara, Wineries & Ostriches!!
Margie and I had a great time visting Santa Barbara, CA and the surrounding area. We used a tour map from the movie Sideways as our starting point and found some incredible places for winetastings! However, after just a few "sips" you begin to forget where you are. And after 5 wineries I wasn't sure if the ostriches we saw on the drive home were real or not! Notice how I looked at the Fess Parker winery (stop #3) and how Margie "glowed" at the Firestone Vineyard (stop #4). Needless to say, we didn't touch the stuff for the rest of our time in Santa Barbara!

First Photos of Jeffrey at UCLA!
Margie and I spent the weekend in Santa Barbara visiting wine country, bicycling on the beach and relaxing. The highlight of the weekend was visiting Jeffrey at UCLA on Sunday, and being joined by Stephanie and Brian. We wandered around the campus and Westwood, then headed over near Malibu for dinner at Gladstones on the beach. It even made the "red-eye" flight back to New York worth it. Here are some photos from UCLA.

Saturday night Jeff went to Universal Studios with friends from UCLA where he met Laura March and other friends from Armonk. Here's a closeup of them on the Jurassic Park ride.

Matty Wins A Race - See it here!
Matty appears at the end of this video (at about 1 minute 40 seconds) in a race. He's dressed all in green except for his blue sneakers, and appears to come in first. Way to Go!! Click Here

Saratoga and Cooperstown
Since Margie and I were in Lake George to visit Matty at camp, we decided to make a weekend of it and stay over in Saratoga and Cooperstown. Margie did go shopping (no surprise there). We also went to Cooperstown to see the Baseball Hall of Fame

And we stayed at a beautiful old Inn - The Inn At Cooperstown
